Air Quality:
- Air
quality is a primary consideration in any high-rise residential or
commercial building. We recognized the over whelming odor associated
with the rotting garbage contained within the system either in the free fall
collecting dumpster or compacted dumpster, the need to control the ever
changing odor was a critical path item that required a permanent
solution.
- Odor
was being sucked up the chute into the building by the stack effect
(natural ventilation) installing our product to seal off the chute
contained and odor within the garbage collection room.
- We
developed an enzyme activated by water to digest (eat) the ever-changing
environment within the garbage containment system.
- The
operating door of "the Bennett"
prevents odor from the garbage moving up through the chute and into the
building and is only opened to allow the garbage to pass through. The
existing approach to pressurize the halls to prevent odor entering the
floors of a high-rise is ineffective due to the force of the chimney
effect in the garbage chute. An open garbage chute means that every time
garbage is deposited into the chute at any floor, the tenant is
consistently met with a blast of air coming out of the chute.
- Bennett-Zyme is the key ingredient in
an integral ancillary process developed by Chute Controls Inc., every
time the unit is washed and the bin is exchanged the enzyme is
introduced into the garbage chute to continuously eat the bacteria that
is present and generates odor, the enzyme will multiply within the
system to accommodate the amount of rotting garbage – Bennett-Zyme is
always present within the system waiting to digest discarded odor
omitting items.
