Warranty:
- Another
feature unique to The Bennett is its three-year warranty on parts and
labor to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and
workmanship. During this period, warranty will be made without charge
for parts or labor. All repairs or replacements made under the terms of
this warranty are subject to the authorization of factory-trained
personnel whose decision will be final. This warranty does not apply to:
Misuse or Abuse - Accident - Neglect - Lack of correct maintenance -
Damage in transit - Normal wear.
- This
warranty provided herein is in lieu of all expressed warranties and may
not be modified by any one. Any implied warranties, including any
implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose are limited in duration for the period of one year from the date
of delivery. Any obligations or liabilities including liability for
consequential damage on the part of the manufacturer and the
representative are hereby excluded.
Service
kits:
- A
service kit will be available for purchase through a Chute Controls Inc.
certified Installation Company 12 months after delivery.
Installation of the Service Kit extends the serviceability of the unit a
further 12 months with additional service kits to follow annually
thereafter. Supply and Installation of this service kit by the certified
installation company will ensure that "The Bennett" complies
with all the requirements of UL/ULC and Chute Controls Inc.
Manufacturing
Process:
- Modeled
on the principles of aircraft technology, The Bennett is manufactured
from individual panels that are sheared, punched and formed. The Bennett
will be sheared, punched and formed at one location and then bulk
container shipped to a central location for final assembly. Each part is
unique; it will only fit into one location. One company controls all the
sheared, punched and formed panels; this ensures top quality control,
with all components generated from computerized drawings to assure
quality.
Servicing of The Bennett:
- Daily
cleaning (When Exchanging The Dumpster) Follow
the signage Usage and Maintenance Instructions 1 to 10.
Hose, scrape and brush off the main door, closing plate, splashguards
and hinge assembly paying particular attention to the area between the
main door and the hinge support. Should debris build up in the area of
the hinge support it may act as a cushion and take the snap out of the
main closing door action.
Labour Time: clean
& wash down - 10 to 15 minutes
Water Used in Process: 14 to
23 litres (3 to 5 gallons)
Weekly
greasing & oiling:
· Open the manual control ball valve
identified by its sign this will activate the water system on The Bennett
closing off the chute with the closing plate, this will assure that no
garbage passes through the system while the greasing and oiling is being
done. Using the recommended Moly grease formulated
with Molybdenum Disulphide. Apply grease to the upper 2 hinge grease fittings
until the grease is seen to ooze from both ends of the hinge pin body. Apply
grease to the lower 2 hinge grease fittings until the grease is seen to ooze
from between the sleeve and end actuating plate. Oil all the pivot points and
linkage arms. Oil both of the closing plate rails, oil at the upper
most inside position allowing the oil to freely run down the inside of the
rails where the closing plate tracks. Once the procedure is complete use the
pull handle and cord to reset the closing plate.
Labour Time: Weekly
greasing & oiling - 10 to 15 minutes
Usage and Maintenance Instructions:
- Safety:
All workers entering the garbage collection area should wear protective
clothing, glasses, masks, etc. and protect themselves at all times.
- Safety: DO
NOT place any part of yourself inside The Bennett.
- Under
no circumstances stand under or reach into a chute or use an object to
free up any item that is obstructing a chute. It is DANGEROUS and may
cause personal injury.
Blocked
Chutes:
- A
blocked chute is easily cleared with the help of water. Water pouring
onto an obstruction will soak the blockage and free it.
Exchanging
the Dumpster:
- Check
for fire. Enter the garbage room and manually open the control door by
pulling down on the cable, check for any evidence of fire.
- Seal
the chute. Open the ball valve identified by its sign. This will
activate the water release system on The Bennett, closing off the chute
with the closing plate.
- Close
the ball valve. The Dumpster can now be exchanged.
- Prepare
to use the washing hose. Open the control door by pulling down on the
cable; hold the door open by securing the cable to its retaining hook.
Open the ball valve of the washing hose located near the garbage chute.
- Wash
off the control door and the splashguards.
- Return
the control door to its normal operating positions.
- Reset
the closing plate. Pull down on the closing plate cable allowing the
closing plate to come into contact with the clutch assembly, the clutch
wheel will rotate, when the closing plate has fully engaged the wheel
release the cable, attach the handle onto its retaining hook.
- Grease.
The grease recommended by Chute Controls Inc for use on The Bennett is Moly grease formulated with Molybdenum Disulphide to
reduce friction and improve anti-wear protection in extreme pressure,
temperature and moisture conditions.
- Grease
& Oil every seven days. Grease the four hinge fittings. Oil the
closing plate guide rails. Oil the closing plate water release actuator
piston. Oil all the linkages, pivot pins and pulley wheels.
- Bennett-Zyme:
Bimonthly or whenever the Bennett-Zyme container contents have turned
clear, refill the Bennett-Zyme container.
- Daily.
Monitor the chute morning and evening during or after high activity.
- NOTE:
We strongly recommend all components of "the Bennett” are
washed off each time the dumpsters are exchanged.
Caution:
Do NOT enter the garbage discharge chute room or area when items are being
discharged from the chute.
